PONTE VEDRANS  VOLUNTEER

As the Library's new STAFF Volunteer Coordinator, I extend a warm welcome to all Ponte Vedra residents.  With support from the FRIENDS, we have lots of exciting opportunities and projects designed to enrich the community, but we need your helping hands to complete them.

Aside from shelving, our volunteers help us to keep the library running smoothly, from stamping date due cards to shelf reading, helping with programs, teaching patrons to use the online card catalogue, and keeping our magazine and newspaper collection up to date.

We even have a special VolunTeen program for those between 14 and 19, and volunteer hours earned at the library can be applied to school or church community service hours.

If you have volunteered at the library before, feel free to come in any time and help out.  If this will be your first time volunteering here, please come to an orientation session, held every Wednesday from 4 - 5 p.m. for a tour of the library and some instruction on library procedures.  As always, anyone who is interested is welcome to attend an orientation session, either as a refreshes course or simply to learn more about the way a library works!
